Mass Start
Mass Start
With a mass start, all event participants are assigned the same start time. Requires minimal control, simplifies the judging process.
Start Types
Mass and Individual Start
The Limetime platform supports mass start, judge-commanded start, start by passing through antenna (chip time), and start by predetermined schedule.
Why do you need different start mechanics?
Each sport has its own format
Mass Start
The most common type of start, when the entire group starts simultaneously at a predetermined time.
Each participant's time begins counting regardless of their position in the start corridor.
Start by Crossing the Line
In our terminology, this is an individual start, i.e. when time starts upon crossing the start line. This can be a mass race start, or an individual ski race where participants start over an extended period of time.
Scheduled Start
Convenient for starts with strict regulations – you can predetermine the start time for each participant and display a countdown on screen.
Can be changed at any time
Mass and individual start times can be changed at any time, even after the race is completed. The system will account for this and recalculate the results.
Start by first or last read
You can set time to start by the participant's first read or by the last. Start by last read is convenient when participants first approach the antenna and immediately start being read, but haven't started yet: cluster start, rolling-start
Restart
The restart function resets the participant's time. Used when a participant wants to repeat the race for some reason. Previous results will not be counted.
False read filtering
It's common when participants warm up before the start and cross the antenna line, as well as after the finish, a participant may be close to the equipment. The software will filter out such false triggers.

Individual Start
Individual Start
An excellent solution for mass events. Participants are formed into groups that start in sequence, maintaining time intervals.
Everything for accurate results
We account for everyday situations
A participant may cross antennas before the start during warm-up, or stay at the finish waiting for friends, or start and then realize they forgot something and return. The system will register but filter out such false triggers.
We have tried to account for everything you might need during start preparation and execution. This has been tested on 2000 competitions by hundreds of organizers.
