Floor antennas

The antenna thickness is 12mm, it can consist of 4 sections (2.8 meters in length) or 8 sections (5.6 meters). The sections are non-detachable. Folds accordion-style.

The advantage of floor antennas is that the tag of a running participant is always in direct line of sight of the antenna under their feet and one participant cannot block another.

Usage

Primary and backup lines at starts with wide corridors

World practice is to use two lines of floor antennas at major starts - primary and backup. The lines are positioned at a distance of about 1.5 meters from each other.

Usage

Floor antennas require a level surface

This can be asphalt or more or less level ground. The sections bend slightly and thus follow contours of uneven surfaces.
